Stéphane Bernard is an artist presently living and working in Vancouver, BC, where he finished a Post Baccalaureat Diploma (PBD) with the Visual Arts graduating class of SFU in 2015.

Upon graduating with a Bachelors in Visual Arts from Université Laval in 2012, he received a summer residency from Engramme, the Quebec City artist run centre devoted to the production and promotion of contemporary printmaking. The artist has also participated in the first Nuit Blanche event (2012) taking place in his hometown of Ottawa; and he received a scholarship residency from Malaspina Printmakers Society in 2014-2015. His critical writing has been published in Kolaj and Issue Magazine.

As well as being a painter and educator, Bernard is currently exploring the archival process as an artistic medium. This practice takes the form of bookworks, critical writing, print-based projects, performance and curatorial proposals.

Stéphane Bernard est un artiste vivant et travaillant dans la très belle ville de Vancouver, en Colombie-Britannique.

Il a récemment terminé son Baccalauréat en arts visuels (2012) de l’Université Laval, Québec, ainsi qu’un diplôme post-baccalauréat (PBD) de Simon Fraser University en mai 2015. Il a obtenu des résidences de recherche chez Engramme, centre d’estampe et d’art actuel de Québec à l’été 2012, et chez Malaspina Printmakers Society de Vancouver en 2014-2015. Il a aussi participé à la première Nuit Blanche d’Ottawa, sa ville natale, à l’automne 2012; et il a contribué à la revue Issue Magazine, produite par la société Unit/Pitt de Vancouver et à la revue Montréalaise Kolaj.
